Reflexive verbs are verbs when the subject of the sentence performed an action upon himself (herself) (itself). Some examples would be:
“I washed myself.”
“He washed himself.”
Depending on the verb ending will determine how you form a reflexive verb in Italian.
are verbs will become arsi
ere verbs will become ersi
ire verbs will become irsi
Just like everything else in life, there are exceptions to every rule! Here are some irregularities when it comes regular Italian verbs particularly when they end in “ciare” or “giare”. A little bit of memorization is required to fully comprehend these cases.
